Let’s Get Out the Vote

John Piper is going to vote. His reasoning is as follows: “Barring catastrophe, Obama or Romney will be president (yes, I know you may see it as a catastrophe even if either does get elected). The likelihood that both presidencies will be identical in the good and evil they do is infinitesimal. One will very probably do more good amid the bad, even if only a little” (http://www.desiringgod.org/blog/posts/i-am-going-to-vote).

I agree. I believe this is a watershed election. While I have limited confidence in either candidate, I do believe that our nation is at an important juncture. Our national debt must be reined in. Our social programs must be reformed. Government should respect the free market system. And the scourge of abortion must be turned back. Let me urge you to vote for the candidates who are most likely to get the job done. So let’s get out the vote and pray for our nation.

  1. I’m going to vote too! I’m voting because God has established governments to be used as His tools to do good to all mankind. I’m not voting for a religion, religious denomination, or for a candidate who claims to be Christian, the Lord judges the later. I’m voting for someone who protects life, supports marriage between man and woman, and my God given right to exercise my faith. I don’t vote as an act of revenge, that belongs to the Lord! I vote because I want my voice to be heard, may God bless Israel and the United States of America.
