So then since Jude seems to refer to the book of 1 Enoch as scripture am I right in assuming that he would not be able to join ETS. My oh my how embarrassing for a bunch of fundamentalistis who believe in inerrancy.

Dear Dr. Köstenberger:
I read with earnest the ETS statement concerning Dr. Beckwith's defection to Romanism. Could you answer the following four questions that would help me tremendously further understand the ETS committees response? I thank you in advance.

1. Nowhere in the statement does the ETS committee call Dr. Beckwith to repentance for his spiritual treason back to Romanism (Gal. 1:6-9)--why is this?

2. Has the ETS committee contacted his previous attended Protestant church to see if the proper steps of church discipline has begun against Dr. Beckwith OR to encourag them in the strongest possible biblical language to begin a process of church discipline (Matt. 18:15-20)?

3. Though Dr. Beckwith personally has not denied Christ, Romanism (which he obviously affirms wholly by confession) clearly denies the gospel of sola fide for semi-Pelagianism; therefore, what is the official position from the ETS as to the legitimacy on Romanism? Does it affirm Romanism as authentic Christianity preaching a true gospel; or does it place it in the camp with Mormons and JW's as a cult that is preaching a different gospel than that to which Scripture affirms?

4 Lastly, if ETS affirms the genuine gospel proclaimed by our Lord Jesus Christ, the Apostles, and that which the Reformation affirmed, why is it not seemingly outraged and concerned over Dr. Beckwith's defection to Romanism? The response given the ETS committee sounds more like a commendation of support than a concerned rebuke? After all, Romanism is a false church, that preaches a false gospel, that is led by a false pastor, occupying a false office?

Grace and peace to you,
Steve Camp
